USI Today…today’s news…today!
|
Today’s news comes 24-7 – not hourly, not daily, and certainly not weekly. That’s why today, News and Information Services is replacing University Notes, the weekly online employee newsletter, with USI Today. Online at www.usi.edu/usitoday, USI Today is an employee news source that will be as dynamic and current as the USI campus. University Notes was established as a weekly employee newsletter in 1967 and went online in 2001. Our goal has always been to keep you up-to-date with the latest news about USI people and events. With USI Today, you will get the news as it is released. USI Today will retain the features you read each week, including news stories and briefs, the calendar, features, and photos. We’ll still be welcoming new employees, offering kudos for accomplishments, and allowing employees to buy and sell items through Marketplace. We’ll archive the articles, since many of you use the archives to verify the spelling of names, dates of events, and historical information. And you can print out USI Today as a PDF if you prefer to do your reading offline. New features will include a spotlight story about a USI employee exclusive to USI Today; a daily picture of campus life; and a blog written by you, the USI community. The USI Today UBlog will allow you to directly address USI’s more than 1,400 employees and hundreds of retirees. You can promote your event, program, class, or department, or submit an essay on another USI-related topic you’d like to share with the University community. Send submissions to USI Today Editor Wendy Knipe Bredhold. We’ve also included helpful links to MyUSI, the Recreation and Fitness Center’s group exercise schedule, the Loft menu, Athletics news, and Human Resources. We’ll still send a weekly reminder to read USI Today. Or you can subscribe to the RSS feed and always know when the page is updated. As always, we want to hear your ideas. If you’d like to contribute to UBlog or recommend an employee for a USI Today feature, contact Wendy at wkbredhold@usi.edu or 812/461-5259. |
