USI Steak Fry & Auction is this week

There is still time to make your reservation for the annual Varsity Club Steak Fry & Auction at the Discovery Lodge at Burdette Park on Thursday, September 18. Reservations will be taken until Monday, September 15. Tickets for the event are $25 per person or $250 for a corporate table (seats eight). Proceeds raised by the Varsity Club's efforts will benefit USI student athletes. To place your reservation, contact the USI Varsity Club office at 812/464-1973. The Varsity Club raised $33,000 for student athletes last year and has raised more than $250,000 since 1992. The main course is a USDA sirloin steak dinner, cooked by the West Side Nut Club's past presidents. The meals are provided by Western Rib-eye & Ribs and Golden Corral. The live auction, conducted by Bill Wilson, will have some of the best bargains around, including private vacation condominium packages, autographed sports paraphernalia, and a Marx Barbecue pig roast for 150 people. Prior to the live auction, the silent auction returns with numerous autographed items and the popular theme basket raffle.
