One World Film Series begins with "The Celluloid Closet"

Sponsored by USI, University of Evansville, Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library, and the Committee to Promote Respect in Schools (CYPRESS), the One World Film Series uses the power of film to illuminate diversity issues and create discussion. Most films will be shown on a Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at three different locations: USI, UE, and Central Library. All films are free and open to the public. Here’s the schedule: “The Celluloid Closet,” with a presentation and discussion by Kelley Coures, will be shown at 7 p.m. Monday, September 15, in Vectren Lecture Hall (Room 100) in the Koch Center for Engineering and Science at UE; 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, in Kleymeyer Hall in the Liberal Arts Center at USI; and 6 p.m. Wednesday, September 17, in the Large Group Room at Central Library. “Persepolis” will be shown at 7 p.m. Monday, October 20, in Vectren Lecture Hall (Room 100) in the Koch Center for Engineering and Science at UE; 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, in Kleymeyer Hall in the Liberal Arts Center at USI; and 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, in the Large Group Room at Central Library. “A Slim Peace” will be shown at 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, in Kleymeyer Hall in the Liberal Arts Center at USI and at 6 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, in the Large Group Room at Central Library. This film is not being shown at UE.
