Ellsworth to attend New Harmony labyrinth opening

Congressman Brad Ellsworth will visit New Harmony on Saturday, September 20, to honor the community’s efforts to preserve and promote its heritage, as well as attend the grand opening of the newly renovated Harmonist Labyrinth. The opening ceremony for the labyrinth will be held at 9:30 a.m. Ellsworth also will present the community with the Preserve America designation, a White House initiative designed to encourage and support community efforts to preserve America’s cultural and natural heritage. In addition, the town will receive the Community Legacy Award from Leslie Townsend, director of Historic Southern Indiana, recognizing New Harmony for its achievements in preserving, enhancing and promoting its heritage. Historic Southern Indiana in an outreach program of the University of Southern Indiana. Historic New Harmony is a unified program of USI and the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites.
