Speaker uses humor and mime at October 4 workshop
|
Motivational speaker and juggling instructor Curtis Zimmerman will encourage students to try new things, teach participants to juggle, and offer students help with balancing priorities in a Leadership USI program that will be offered to University of Southern Indiana students from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 4 in Carter Hall of the University Center. Zimmerman gives audience members the tools and the confidence to reach their individual potential. Zimmerman, a speaker with an interactive delivery style, is the author of I Believe…What do you Believe? Keys to Success in College and Life. He incorporates skills he learned as an entertainer to deliver his message about the value of collaboration and teamwork, success strategies, and learning new leadership skills. He mimes, juggles, eats fire, and uses magic to reach the students. His presentation centers on his concepts of how every day is a new opportunity and how one’s attitude dictates one’s potential future. A person who attended one of his presentations said, "I thought his personality was great. He was entertaining and informative. I think one of the real values was his compassion.” Another said, “The message was delivered with a great balance between the intellectual side and emotional side.” More details about Curtis Zimmerman are found at curtiszimmerman.com/index.cfm. USI students can register for the free program today on the USI Web site at www.usi.edu/leadership/leadershipUSI.asp. The program is sponsored by Student Development Programs and Leadership USI.
