|
The Board of Trustees for the University of Southern Indiana, at a meeting on November 6, 2008, approved candidates for master’s, baccalaureate, and associate degrees to be conferred during fall Commencement on Saturday, December 13. Over 500 graduates are eligible to graduate. To accommodate the increasing number of graduates and family and friends taking part in fall Commencement, two ceremonies are planned in the Physical Activities Center. A 10 a.m. ceremony will be for degree candidates from the College of Business, College of Nursing and Health Professions, and Pott College of Science and Engineering. Students in Bower-Suhrheinrich College of Education and Human Services, College of Liberal Arts, and Extended Services will graduate at 1 p.m. A report on student financial assistance administered by the University showed over 19,000 awards totaling $56.8 million were distributed to over 7,200 students for the 2007-08 academic year. Federal, state, internal, USI Foundation, and corporate and private funding sources increased in that period. Student Affairs staff said that a student-focused team works to help students and families seek, obtain, and make the best use of resources available to help finance the costs of attending USI. The next board meeting is scheduled for January 2009. Kathy Funke News & Information Services kfunke@usi.edu or 812/465-7050 |
