Lighting a Tradition gets a new twist
|
The USI Student Alumni Association (SAA) will hold its 19th annual “Lighting A Tradition” from 7 to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 8, in Rice Library's second floor reading room. This festive event will feature Designed by Grace, USI's gospel choir, singing popular holiday carols. Following the performance, students will gather outside the library where SAA will “Light the Quad.” “As the beautiful quadrangle becomes the heart of our campus, SAA members wanted to transform it in to a 'Winter Wonderland' where white Christmas lights will adorn the trees located there,” said Meg Scherle, president of SAA. “We hope this event will bring a bit of holiday cheer to campus for all students to enjoy!” Following the quad-lighting ceremony, students and guests will enjoy free cookies and hot chocolate in the lobby of Rice Library. Admission to the event is free. Lisa Schaefer Alumni & Volunteer Services 812/465-1215 or ljschaefer@usi.edu |
