Graduate featured in employer's national marketing
|
A University of Southern Indiana graduate in occupational therapy stars in a recruiting video and national advertising for her employer. Katie Lodge, an occupational therapist at Kindred Hospital Ocala in Ocala, Florida, is an employee of Peoplefirst Rehabilitation, a contract supplier with more than 7,000 therapists providing services at 600 locations in 39 states. Lodge joined Peoplefirst in May 2007 and was named in May 2008 to a new grad task force that met at company headquarters in Louisville, Kentucky. During the task force meeting, she participated in a photo shoot and videotaping for the national marketing campaign directed to college students and new graduates. Lodge said, “This company appealed to me because it offered excellent benefits and a work environment that I could grow within. It provides me with all the tools to build on what I received from USI to become a dynamic therapist. I know that this company cares for me, and I am a part of a great team with one goal in mind: rehabilitating patients and offering a higher quality of life.” One of nine showcased employees, Lodge is the first therapist seen on the recruiting video (available on YouTube). She identifies herself as a USI graduate. Other featured therapists are recent graduates of Northern Arizona University. St. Ambrose University, St. Louis University, Tufts University, University of Central Oklahoma, University of Maine, University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, and Western Michigan University. The four-and-a-half minute video features physical therapists and a specialist in communications disorders as well as occupational therapists. Lodge is the sole employee featured in the Peoplefirst Rehabilitation full-page advertisement in the November 3, 2008, issue of OT Practice, a magazine that goes to more than 35,000 practitioners. Participating in the marketing campaign caused Lodge to reflect on her USI experience as well as her association with Peoplefirst. “I am so excited to be able to brag about USI and the education I received. I had wonderful professors that provided me with ample support and I am sure that is what molded me into what I am today,” she said. Formerly of Mount Vernon, Indiana, Lodge graduated magna cum laude in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy and completed a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2007. Kindred Hospital Ocala is an acute-care hospital that specializes in the care of medically complex, long-term patients. |
