Listen to interview with UCC Speaker Dr. Ken Miller
Reporter Micah Schweizer of Evansville’s public radio station WNIN interviewed Dr. Kenneth Miller in advance of his February 17 University Core Curriculum lecture, “Darwin, God, and Design: America’s Continuing Problem with Evolution.” USI's Office of Special Events estimated that 1,000 people attended the lecture, filling Carter Hall and an overflow room in the Health Professions Center where the lecture was streamed live.You may listen to a full or edited version of the interview on the WNIN web site. The spring 2009 University Core Curriculum Speaker Series commemorated the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin and the 150th anniversary of the publication of his Origin of Species with the lecture by Miller, author of Finding Darwin’s God and Only a Theory: Evolution and the Battle for America’s Soul. Miller is a professor of biology at Brown University, a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and an author of the most widely-used high school biology textbook in America.
