Program celebrates Evansville’s African American heritage

The USI History Club will offer a Black History Month program, “Evansville’s African American History and Culture,” from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 20, in Forum I in the Wright Administration Building. Speakers for the event include Dr. Betty Hart, professor of English, and community leaders Aretha Graves and Lana Burton. These presentations will be combined with a mixed media presentation of archival pictures and music showcasing historic Evansville. There also will be refreshments and door prizes donated by local businesses. The event is free and open to the public.
