Indiana Commission for Higher Education faculty position opening

The Indiana Commission for Higher Education seeks a faculty member to serve an appointment on the Commission from July 1, 2009 to June 30, 2011. The faculty member must be a full-time faculty member at a public institution and reside in the State of Indiana. The faculty member will be responsible to convene with and serve as a full voting member of this coordinating board, which meets approximately 20-25 days out of each year. Commission meetings are scheduled on the Thursday and Friday coinciding with the second Friday of the month, and normally involve an overnight stay at the meeting site. Hotel and mileage reimbursement is provided, along with a $50 per day stipend. Faculty members are encouraged to send an email message expressing interest to Dr. Tom Bordelon, the USI campus Nominating Committee representative, at tbordelon@usi.edu. The application and “Agreement to Serve” forms will be attached to the reply email message. If returning the completed application by email, the applicant must have an electronic signature (scanned and inserted) on the “Agreement to Serve” form. Candidates are to submit applications no later than midnight Monday, April 13, 2009 to rosemaryp@che.in.gov. General information about the Commission is accessible at www.che.in/gov. The Indiana Commission for Higher Education, created in 1971, plans and coordinates Indiana’s state-supported system of postsecondary education, reviews budget requests from public institutions and the State Student Assistance Commission, and approves or disapproves for public institutions the establishment of new programs or expansion of campuses. |
