Dean Coudret named interim provost
USI President H. Ray Hoops announced the appointment of Dr. Nadine Coudret as interim provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at the University of Southern Indiana, effective July 1, 2009. Coudret will serve as interim provost for the 2009-2010 academic year, returning to the post as dean of the College of Nursing and Health Professions at the end of her service to Academic Affairs. The vacancy occurred because of the appointment of current Provost Linda L. M. Bennett as the University’s third president, effective July 1. “Dr. Coudret’s experience will provide consistent and strong leadership while the campus conducts a national search for a new provost during 2009-2010,” said Dr. Hoops in a written statement. He added, “Dr. Coudret has established a record of innovative leadership as a respected leader on campus and in the Evansville community.” Dr. Coudret joined USI in 1988. She is a member of the Indiana Nursing Workforce Development Coalition and chairman of the Ohio Valley Institutional Review Board. She consults on program evaluation and curriculum and serves as a evaluation site-visitor for the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education. Her research interests include nursing education, faculty workload, life style and health practices, among others. Her work is published in a variety of professional journals, and she has presented on a variety of health topics at professional conferences.
