New Harmony Theatre holds local auditions for 2009 season

New Harmony Theatre, University of Southern Indiana’s professional Equity stage, will hold local auditions for its 2009 season on Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5 from 2 to 10 p.m. each day in the Liberal Arts Center on the University of Southern Indiana campus. The 2009 season includes productions of “A Streetcar Named Desire,” by Tennessee Williams, June 12 – 28; “Harvey,” by Mary Chase, July 10 – 26; and “Guys and Dolls” with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, July 31 – August 16. According to Lenny Leibowitz, New Harmony Theatre’s artistic director, roles are still available in all productions for both Equity and non-Equity actors. Interested performers should prepare a short contemporary monologue. Singers should bring 32 bars from the standard musical theatre repertoire with sheet music in their key.
