Celebration of Scholarly, Creative, and Professional Achievement is April 2

The Center for Academic Creativity is organizing a second annual reception to recognize the accomplishments of USI faculty and staff members. “A Celebration of Scholarly, Creative, and Professional Achievement at USI” will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 2, in the Grand Reading Room on Rice Library’s second floor. In anticipation of her new role as acting provost, the reception will be hosted by Dr. Nadine Coudret. A brief program will include announcements of sabbatical awards and summer research fellowships, as well as remarks on balancing scholarship with teaching and service by faculty members including Dr. Jim Bandoli, professor of biology, Dr. Michael Kearns, professor of English, Dr. Marie Opatrny, assistant professor of social work, Dr. Maryann Shifflet, instructor in economics, Dr. Michael Strezewski, assistant professor of anthropology, and Dr. Katie Ehlman, assistant professor of health services.
