Provost search begins in May

Mark Rozewski, vice president for Business Affairs at the University of Southern Indiana, will chair a search and screen committee to review candidates for the position of provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at USI. The committee was appointed by USI President H. Ray Hoops. The position is open as Dr. Linda L. M. Bennett, who has been in the position since 2003, becomes the third president of USI on July 1, following the retirement of President Hoops. Dr. Nadine Coudret is serving as interim vice president during the search period. Rozewski said the committee will begin its work immediately. The first meeting of the committee is planned for Tuesday, May 5. Open Faculty Forum An open faculty forum is scheduled at noon on May 5 in Room 201 of the University Center for faculty to meet the search consultant. Plans are to advertise and recruit over the summer, interview in early fall, and have the position filled by January 1, 2010. “USI is an institution rich in momentum, possibility, and real strengths, said Rozewski. “Our goal will be to identify the candidate who joins with the University in always asking, “What’s next?” The committee includes representatives from the academic units, a student representative, a staff representative, and a community educator.
