Knox County graduate earns scholarship to USI

The scholarship was established at USI through the generosity of Frank and Julia Ladner of Lawrenceville, Illinois. The scholarship is awarded to an incoming student who is a resident of Knox County and meets high academic, leadership, and service qualifications. The daughter of Kurtis and Laurie Schwartz, Alicen plans to major in chemistry at USI. While in high school she played on the golf team, was a cheerleader, and participated on academic teams. She had a four-year perfect attendance in high school. University of Southern Indiana is a comprehensive public university in Evansville. Established in 1965, USI is located on a 1,400 acre campus and serves 10,000 students in five colleges with undergraduate and graduate degrees.
