Students can search for unclaimed property during event at USI
Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller will visit University of Southern Indiana on Thursday, September 3 to talk with students about the importance of searching for unclaimed property. This visit is part of Zoeller's aggressive campaign to raise awareness among consumers about the potential to find their own unclaimed money. Students who attend the event from 10:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at the Rice Library computer lab on the first floor will be able to complete a computer search to see if their names come up with unclaimed assets.
The state holds more than $383 million in unclaimed assets and more than $13 million of that belongs to Southern Indiana residents. Along with looking for their own unclaimed money, students can search for money belonging to friends, family members, or neighbors.
