Print exhibit and alumni show open at Art Center

Wendy Knipe Bredhold Media Relations Specialist, News & Information Services 812/461-5259 The Mid-America Print Council is an educational organization whose goal is to promote awareness and appreciation of the art of making original prints, books, handmade paper, and drawings. The annual exhibition is co-sponsored by the Print Council and USI. The entries were reviewed by juror Janet Ballweg, professor of printmaking at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, who selected 75 original prints for the show. Best of Show, Honorable Mention and Purchase Awards will be announced at the reception on September 13. Ten Artists/Four Decades features the artwork of USI art alumni from the 1970s to the 2000s. The artists are Daryl Booth '08, Bob Brandt '86, Mark Brendel '03, Jennifer Crowell '06, Gena K. Daniels '07, Adam Egenolf '01, Matthew Gehring '98, Jonathan Hittner '01, Christine Reising '79, and Jane Case Vickers '89. The alumni exhibit is part of a week of activities surrounding the inauguration of President Linda L.M. Bennett, October 10-16. Dr. Bennett will greet alumni at a reception from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, October 11, at the Art Center. The exhibits run through Friday, October 30.
