Wendy Knipe Bredhold Media Relations Specialist, News & Information Services 812/461-5259 Phase 3 of Loop Road Phase 1B, which included repaving Clarke Lane and Bent Twig Lane west of campus from the Children's Learning Center to the University Center pay lot, adding a right-hand passing lane on Clarke, and building a bike path, will be complete on Friday, October 2. (Click here for the campus map.) Clarke Lane, which has been closed from the Children's Learning Center to the University Center pay lot since mid-August, will be open, and Bent Twig Lane will be open to the Grounds Center entrance. Motorists entering and exiting Lots G and H will be able to do so from the north and the west. Bent Twig Lane also will provide access to Lot J, as access from University Boulevard will be blocked by Phase 4 construction. Phase 4 will close Bent Twig Lane from the Grounds Center drive to University Boulevard. Fred Kalvelage, construction manager, pointed out that delivery vehicles will need to use Clarke Lane/Bent Twig Lane to reach the University Center during Phase 4. Phase 4 also will continue the bike path to University Boulevard, which will eventually connect to the Burdette Park-USI Trail. Loop Road Phase 1B should be complete by the end of October, barring weather-related delays. |
