Four concerts on campus in October

Wendy Knipe Bredhold Media Relations Specialist, News & Information Services 812/461-5259 Acclaimed Spanish guitarist Maestro Soler ("the poet of the guitar") will perform in a Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration concert at 7 p.m. Monday, October 5, in Carter Hall in the University Center. The band Ipanema will perform a mixture of traditional and contemporary Brazilian music in a Columbus Day concert at 4:30 p.m. Monday, October 19, also in Carter Hall. These two concerts are sponsored by the Department of Modern and Classical Languages and the College of Liberal Arts. For more information, contact Dr. Silvia Rode, chair of the department, at 465-7026. The third concert is part of the University Core Curriculum Speaker Series. Nino Cocchiarella will perform a classical piano concert at 2 p.m. Friday, October 23, in the Grand Reading Room in the David L. Rice Library.
