Mitch Albom, author of Tuesdays with Morrie and The Five People You Meet in Heaven, will present the University of Southern Indiana's 2009 Fall Lecture at 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 21, in Carter Hall in the University Center.

Albom is a best-selling author, journalist, screenwriter, playwright, radio and television broadcaster, and musician. More than 28 million copies of his books have been sold worldwide. His books have been published in 41 territories in 42 languages and made into Emmy Award-winning and critically-acclaimed television movies.

At USI, Albom will discuss his new book Have a Little Faith: A True Story, his first nonfiction work since Tuesdays with Morrie. In Have a Little Faith, Albom argues that faith is needed in the modern age more than ever. Read an excerpt from the book here.

The lecture is free and open to the public. After the lecture, Albom will sign copies of Have a Little Faith, which will be available for purchase at the event.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Overflow crowds will be directed to a live broadcast of the event in Forum I in the Wright Administration Building. Those who watch from Forum I will be able to return to the University Center for the book signing.

The Fall Lecture is sponsored by Student Development Programs, Housing and Residence Life, the Activities Programming Board, the Multicultural Center, and Religious Life.
