- Be located in one of the following Indiana counties

o Dubois
o Gibson

- Be able to invest $1,500 to cover a portion of the costs of services rendered. The value of the assistance received will be in the range of $5,000-$10,000 per company.

Project activities and services will occur during 2010.

The application process begins by completing a qualifying survey online at www.usi.edu/breakout. The application deadline is noon CDT on Friday, October 23.

Representatives of qualified companies will be invited to an information session in Huntingburg on Friday, October 30. USI staff and regional economic development organizations will answer questions about the program and assist companies in developing their formal applications.

Seven companies will be selected for participation. The companies selected will be announced Tuesday, December 1 with projects beginning immediately after the first of the year.

Examples of the assistance available include strategic planning as well as aid in improving operational efficiency, and developing human resources, sales, marketing, and financial processes. Each work plan will begin with an organizational assessment wherein company leaders will work with project consultants to identify the exact services to be delivered.
