Dr. Dan Scavone, USI professor emeritus of history, will present "The Myth of the Vampire," a multimedia lecture, at 5 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, in Kleymeyer Hall in the Liberal Arts Center. The program is part of the USI Department of English's Medieval Studies Forum and is free and open to the public.

In the presentation, Scavone will explore vampirism and the undead through myth, legend, sociology, and history. His findings will prove that such beliefs are an expression of humankind's deepest hopes and fears.

For more information, call Dr. S. Elizabeth Passmore, assistant professor of English, at 812/461-5433 or go to www.usi.edu/libarts/english/medieval.asp.
