In coordination with Make a Difference Day, a day dedicated to helping others, the USI Service Learning Program has organized volunteer opportunities to serve the Evansville community. USI students, employees, and the public are encouraged to participate in these activities on Saturday, October 24.

"The Service Learning Program is hoping to make this day a tradition of service throughout the academic year," said Dr. Anne Statham, director of Service Learning. "We offer a variety of opportunities and ways for students to get involved."

Activities for Make a Difference Day are:

Park Cleanup with City Park Department

Volunteers are needed to do basic maintenance work including trail cleanup, landscaping, and trash and cigarette butt pickup. Volunteers are asked to bring gloves and trash bags.

Walk Up Activities on Health
Time: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Location:
Koch Family Children's Museum of Evansville
Volunteers will help develop children's health activities and create stations for children on health-related issues.

Lampion Center Workshop on Child Sexual Assault
Time: 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Location: USI, Forum III in the Wright Administration Building

The Lampion Center will offer a children's sexual abuse prevention training program. Participants will receive information on how to help prevent sexual abuse of children.

Wesselman Nature Center's Harvest Festival
