Make a Difference Day planned for October 24

"We offer a variety of opportunities and ways for students to get involved." Activities for Make a Difference Day are: Park Cleanup with City Park Department Time: 9 a.m. to noon Location: Garvin Park Volunteers are needed to do basic maintenance work including trail cleanup, landscaping, and trash and cigarette butt pickup. Volunteers are asked to bring gloves and trash bags. Walk Up Activities on Health Time: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Location: Koch Family Children's Museum of Evansville Volunteers will help develop children's health activities and create stations for children on health-related issues. Lampion Center Workshop on Child Sexual Assault Time: 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Location: USI, Forum III in the Wright Administration Building The Lampion Center will offer a children's sexual abuse prevention training program. Participants will receive information on how to help prevent sexual abuse of children. Wesselman Nature Center's Harvest Festival Time: 6:30 p.m. Location: Wesselman Nature Center Volunteers will help with set up and take down, collect tickets, and work at the concession booth. The event promotes family togetherness while raising funds for the Wesselman Nature Center. Future service opportunities are being planned for January and April of 2010.
