USI students to learn about area homelessness in "Boxville"

Wendy Knipe Bredhold Media Relations Specialist, News & Information Services 812/461-5259 During the program, Dr. Marie Opatrny, USI assistant professor of social work, and Kat Isbell, a member of the Community Development Team at Aurora, Inc., will discuss homelessness in Evansville and the effort to end it. After the guest speakers give their presentations, teams of students will compete in a variety of categories to build "box homes." Teams also can earn points toward awards by donating non-perishable food items in the Boxville collection drive. Boxville is sponsored by Housing and Residence Life and the resident assistant staff of McDonald West.
