Wendy Knipe Bredhold Media Relations Specialist, News & Information Services 812/461-5259 Dr. Nadine Coudret, interim provost and vice president for Academic Affairs, said, "It is important for USI students to avail themselves of the opportunity to receive the H1N1 vaccine here on campus. There is no charge for the vaccine and in contrast to many clinic sites, there are no long waiting lines. With finals approaching, we want our students to receive the vaccine and be protected from the flu so they will be successful in their study." Only live, intranasal vaccine will be administered. Those who may receive the vaccine are: -Healthy students, faculty, staff through age 24,with no underlying medical conditions, -Healthy students, faculty, staff ages 25-49, with no underlying medical conditions who are caregivers/household contacts of infants less than six months, and -Health care provider students and faculty ages 25-49, with no underlying medical conditions. The vaccine is free of charge. It will be administered by Student Health Center staff and senior students in the nursing program. |
