USI and United Way raise over $37,000 in 2009 fundraising campaign

Jennifer Theriot Administrative Associate News & Information Services 812/465-7005 The 2009 USI United Way Campaign ran from October 26 to November 4, and during this time USI employees donated their money and time to make the campaign a success. Financial contributions went to 70 local programs in 33 agencies that work to meet critical needs of individuals and families in Vanderburgh, Spencer, and Warrick counties. As part of the campaign, local vendors donated a variety of prizes for winning contributors. The United Way would like to thank Coldstone Creamery, Fazoli's, First Avenue Car Wash, Grease Monkey, Hilltop Inn, Holiday World, Lic's Deli & Ice Cream, McDonalds, New Harmony Theatre, ProMark, Simon/Eastland Mall, SouthWest Graphics, The Loft, USI, USI Athletics, the USI Bookstore, the USI Theatre, and Walther's Golf & Fun for their donations. Winners of the prizes were Rachel Acker, Susan Ahmad, Yvonne Beavin, Vicki Bierley, Jennifer Briggs, Virginia Bryant, Tim Buecher, Denise Bulger, Debbie Butler, Keith Carter, Thuy DaoJensen, Deanna Engler, Linda Evinger, Patricia Flake, Peggy Harrel, Ronnie Jessie, Andrew Jones, Jean Kuebler, Charmaine McDowell, Jane Meyer, Melissa Miller, Rebecca Miller, Jimmy Prior, J. Wayne Rinks, Susan Ruholl, Diana Rumsey, Kim Schauss, Deborah Schmuck, Suzanne Schroeder, Jeff Seyler, Marlene Shaw, Mary Swartz, Curtis Truitt, Shirley Webster, and Katherine Weinzapfel. In these tough economic times, more of our friends, relatives, neighbors, and coworkers than ever are reaching out for support from the United Way and its member agencies.
