Topping-off ceremony for UC expansion

The ceremony will be held next to the fountain, south of the tower on the UC mall. Student Trustee Lauren Raikes will introduce President Linda L. M. Bennett, who will offer remarks before a crane lifts a construction worker to the top of the tower to put the lightning rod into place. The University community is invited to attend. The $17.7 million expanded University Center will open in 2011. The architectural firm of Holzman Moss of New York City designed the new structure. Project engineers for the University Center are Hafer Associates of Evansville. An architectural rendering of the completed University Center expansion will be on display at the topping-off ceremony.
