USI's Smith, Young named D-II Bulletin Players of the Month

University of Southern Indiana men's basketball senior guard Jamar Smith of Peoria, Illinois, and women's junior guard Ellen Young of Salem, Illinois, have been named the Players of the Month for December by the Division II Bulletin.

It marks the first time in school history that the Screaming Eagles have had a men's and women's player earn Division II Bulletin Player of the Month honors. Smith is the first USI men's player since Norman Plummer (December of 2007) to earn Division II Player of the Month honors, while Young becomes the first USI women's player since Jessica Stuckman (January of 2002) to earn Division II Player of the Month accolades.
