New Harmony Theatre announces 2010 season local auditions

New Harmony Theatre, the area's professional Equity theatre, announces auditions for its 2010 season, featuring productions of The School for Scandal, by Richard Brinsley Sheridan The Glass Menagerie, by Tennessee Williams and Finian's Rainbow, by Burton Lane and E.Y. Harburg. Auditions will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, January 20 and Thursday, 21 at the University of Southern Indiana.

Auditioners should bring a headshot or current photograph and resume. Actors should prepare two contrasting one-minute monologues, classical or contemporary. Singers should bring 32 bars from the standard musical theatre repertoire with sheet music in their key, and a one-minute classical or contemporary monologue. An accompanist will be provided. Material from the productions is encouraged. A dance call is scheduled for 6 p.m. on both days. Dancers may attend the dance call but are not required to do so.
