University of Southern Indiana students will conduct focus group sessions before, between, and after the Environmental Protection Agency's two public meetings on the Jacobsville Neighborhood Soil Contamination Site on Thursday, February 4. The EPA will hold meetings at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. that day in the Browning Room at Central Library.

As part of a class project for a Liberal Arts Capstone course, the students are developing a public education plan about the lead and arsenic clean-up being performed by the EPA in the Jacobsville neighborhood. Residents who want to give their opinions and suggestions are encouraged to come to the Browning Room an hour before the meetings, or stay to participate in a focus group after the meetings.

For more information, contact Dr. Anne Statham, USI professor of sociology and director of Service Learning, at 812/465-1203 or aastatham@usi.edu.
