Brandi Schwartz Marketing Coordinator Outreach & Engagement 812/464-1854 Valerie Sanders, an occupational therapy student, enjoyed her conversation with a senior who worked as a state nurse. "Since I am looking to work in the occupational therapy field, I found her knowledge especially useful," said Sanders. "She had a lot of interesting stories to tell, it's amazing how medical practices have changed over time." William Saucer, a senior at Carver Community Organization, enjoyed the visit from the students and wished he could have had additional time to share more about his 40-year teaching career. "I had such a good time giving the students advice about things I had to learn the hard way," said Saucer. Service Learning will hold a follow-up intergenerational workshop at Carver Community Organization later this month.
