SwISTEM to offer workshops for teachers

Topics include learning to use elementary mathematics manipulatives incorporation of Dynamic Cart Tracks and Basic Optics Tracks in high school physics classrooms, using the sine wave generators and string vibrators provided through the SwISTEM Equipment Lending Trucks, using the TI-Nspire calculator to teach high school mathematics, successful use of the Geometer's Sketchpad, chemistry challenges for high school chemistry teachers, exploring Earth's Materials with the elementary-level FOSS science kit, DNA profiling and forensic anthropology hands-on engineering- including the use of LEGOs, Vernier LabQuest training, the basics of using the spectrophotometer (Spec 20) in high school biology and chemistry classrooms, and showing applied STEM technology to teachers while visiting the Department of Defense Physics and Engineering at Naval Surface Warfare Center's Crane Division.
A $10 registration fee per workshop is required.
