The Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) is hosting a free "Pro Writer" workshop from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 15, at the University of Southern Indiana.

The workshop features Kerry Kurt Phillips, one of Nashville's most prolific songwriters. His Grammy-nominated works have garnered four number one singles as surveyed by Billboard, 16 gold records, and 20 platinum albums with certified sales of over 30 million records. Phillips will perform some of his tunes and offer advice on the craft of commercial songwriting.

Time permitting, pre-recorded original songs submitted by workshop participants will be played for a professional evaluation by Phillips. (Bring a song on CD and a typed lyric sheet. No instruments please.) The workshop is free of charge and will be held in Room 119 of the USI Technology Center. RSVP to Paul Kuban at paulkuban@yahoo.com with the subject line NSAI Workshop.
