Sport Management students hold golf scramble fundraiser

The Physical Education Department Sport Event Management class, in cooperation with the Sport Management Club, will host a golf scramble at 9 a.m. Friday, April 23, at Cambridge Golf Course. Proceeds will support scholarships for students pursuing the Bachelor of Science degree in sport management, and will be used to support professional development for students in the club.

In fall 2009, a sport marketing course developed a marketing plan and sponsorship proposal to help in the implementation of a golf scramble that would be held during spring 2010. This semester, students enrolled in the course are planning, organizing, implementing, and leading the event.

The Sport Management Club also was developed within a class in fall 2009. Students in Principles and Applications of Sport Management planned and organized the club.

Check in is at 7:30 a.m. with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. The fees are $260 for a foursome or $70 for an individual. If you would like to participate or have any questions, contact Dr. Glenna Bower at 812/465-1265 or gbower@usi.edu.
