The University of Southern Indiana baseball team starts NCAA Division II Tournament play by hosting the Midwest Regional May 13-16 at the USI Baseball Field. The Screaming Eagles are making their third appearance in the tournament in the last four seasons and are hosting the regional for the first time since 1992.

Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $4 for students per day. Championship Day ticket prices are $7 for adults and $4 for students.

The Eagles won the GLVC Tournament for the first time since 1993 on Sunday. They are scheduled to play the University of Indianapolis in the first round Thursday at 7 p.m. USI defeated UIndy in the semi-finals of the GLVC Tournament, 16-2, on Saturday and holds the series lead for the season, 2-1.

In addition to winning the GLVC title over the weekend, USI tied a school record for wins (43) set by the 2007 team. The Eagles also have reached 40 wins for the fourth time in the history of the program.

Top-seeded USI (43-12) and sixth-seeded UIndy (34-20) are joined in the regional by second-seeded Grand Valley State University (34-14), third-seeded Northern Kentucky University (41-14), fourth-seeded Wayne State University (32-18), and fifth-seeded Ashland (35-20). GVSU plays Ashland in the regional opening game Thursday at 11 a.m., while the second game features NKU versus Wayne State University at 3 p.m.

Wayne State won the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference over the weekend, while NKU finished the regular season as the GLVC East Division champion.
