Dine, chat, and wear a hat for a great cause
|
Each year the Summer Hat Luncheon is attended by more than 200 guests who decorate their tables and even create costumes using everything from New Harmony history to color schemes and movies themes for inspiration. The creative enthusiasm is part of the fun that brings many friends back again and again. This year, a move to the spacious New Harmony Inn and Conference Center will allow room for more guests and offer an opportunity for everyone to admire the festive tables before lunch. Between 11 a.m. and noon, the banquet hall and adjoining reception area will be open for refreshments and the table preview. Attendees who arrive early may also want to visit two significant historic sites, the Rapp Granary and the Schnee Ribeyre Elliott House, which will be open for luncheon guests from 10 to11 a.m. Individuals or groups interested in attending the Summer Hat Luncheon may sponsor tables for four or more. The group's designated table captain is responsible for dressing the table with tablecloth, napkins, centerpiece, dinnerware and table service. A table for four at the Summer Hat Luncheon may be reserved for $120 or individuals may purchase a single ticket for $30 and be seated at unreserved tables.
