New Harmony Theatre, the Tri-State's only professional Equity theatre, opens its 2010 season with "The School for Scandal," a comedy set in the lusty, back-biting world of 18th century London. According to Amy Estes, managing director, "Much as in New Harmony Theatre's 2007 production of "The Importance of Being Earnest," this scintillating, saucy comedy of manners combines uproarious satire with real heart and the triumph of true love." "The School for Scandal" runs June 11 through 27 at Murphy Auditorium.

The cast features Joy Franz, Broadway veteran of such famed productions as "Into the Woods" and "Pippin" as Lady Sneerwell, John Windsor-Cunningham, a London actor who performed most recently in The Repertory Project productions of "Hamlet" and "A Doll's House," as Sir Peter Teazle, Patricia Santomasso, a newcomer to the New Harmony stage, as Lady Teazle, Loren Dunn and Diane Ciesla, audience favorites from New Harmony Theatre's 2007 production of "The Importance of Being Earnest," as Charles Surface and Mrs. Candour, and USI student Jasmine Ruckriegel in her first major professional role as Maria. Megan Fallon will design the scenery, Shan Jensen will design the costumes, Craig A. Young will design the lighting, and Sean Allan Doyle will design the sound.
