Erika Myers-Bromwell Director of New Harmony Gallery of Comtemporary Art 812/682-3156 In the Introduction to Cyanotypes workshop, instruction and materials will be provided so students can learn and appreciate this traditional alternative photographic process. Taught by Alison Erazmus, artist and assistant director of NHGCA, the Cyanotypes workshop meets from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturdays, June 5, 12, and 19 at the Ribeyre Gym. The fee of $50 includes most materials. Creative Thinking in Three Dimensions turns the studio into a place to play, wonder, and ask/answer those "what if" questions. This isn′t technical sculpture making rather, it′s an exploration of your creativity by thinking about innovations in product design, art, and popular culture. Creative Thinking workshop is instructed by Katherine Taylor, sculptor, and meets for nine sessions from 1 to 4 p.m., June 21-25 and June 28- July 1 at the Sarah Campbell Blaffer Studio. The fee of $50 includes most materials. Intermediate Ceramics workshop is open to anyone who has advanced beginning wheel throwing skills and is familiar with intermediate level glazing and firing techniques. Instructed by Anita D. Powell, artist, Intermediate Ceramics will meet from noon to 4 p.m. on weekdays, July 7 –“ 21. The fee of $400 includes materials. Through demonstrations and one-on-one instruction, Plein Air Painting workshop students will learn technical skills as they relate to the creation of a painting outdoors. Instructor for the Plein Air Painting workshop will be Sarah Bielski, USI instructor in painting. The Plein Air workshop will meet from 9 a.m. to noon, August 2, 4, 6, 9, 11, and 13. The fee of $250 does not include materials. You′ll make beautiful paper for your artwork, scrapbook, or stationary in the Introduction to Hand Papermaking workshop. Instructed by Janet Lorence, artist, Hand Papermaking meets from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., September 11 and 18 at the Double Log Cabin. The fee of $75 includes materials. |
