Sixteen USI student athletes earn academic excellence awards

The University of Southern Indiana Department of Athletics had 16 student athletes earn GLVC Council of Presidents' Academic Excellence Awards. The 16 USI student athletes are a part of the award's inaugural class that has exhausted their eligibility, competed in the GLVC for a minimum of two years, and maintained at least a 3.5 grade point average throughout their academic careers.

USI tied for second among the GLVC schools for total honorees. Drury University led the conference with 19 honorees, while USI, Lewis University, and Rockhurst University had 16 each.

The USI student athletes honored are Andrew Menner, men's cross country Christopher Taylor , men's golf Bradley Cadden, men's soccer Abby Williams, women's basketball Mary Ballinger, women's cross country Lauren Crick, women's cross country Sarah Whiteman, women's cross country Lacy Williams, women's cross country Kimberly Gottwald, women's golf Sara Loete, softball Lindsay Raikes, softball Gretchen Cantwell, women's tennis Courtney Bealor, volleyball Ashley Henricks, volleyball Jaclyn Johnson, volleyball Melanie Pund, volleyball.

Overall a total of 137 GLVC student athletes were honored by the Council of Presidents.
