USI Continuing Education offers Intermediate Ceramics workshop

Brandi Schwartz Marketing Coordinator Outreach & Engagement 812/464-1854 The workshop will focus on the creation of wheel-thrown forms using cone 10 and cone 5 clay bodies and finishing the surfaces by either using an imagery producing, resist technique or by salt firing. Glazes will be limited to cone 5 transparent Celadon′s, fired in an oxidation atmosphere. Participants should have advanced beginning wheel throwing skills and be familiar with intermediate level glazing and firing techniques. The course will be instructed by Anita D. Powell and will meet from noon to 4 p.m. on weekdays, July 7-21. Registration is $290 and includes materials.
