Interim director of Faculty Development appointed

She will fill the position held by Karyn Sproles who has been appointed dean of Arts and Sciences at Carlow University. The campus community extends best wishes to Dr. Sproles as she embarks on this new and exciting opportunity. Cagle, assistant professor of nutrition in the College of Nursing and Health Professions, joined USI in 2003 and has served as chair of the Faculty Senate for the last two years. Rochon has indicated his support for Cagle's appointment and states that her leadership skills and advocacy for faculty development will serve the University community well. Cagle said, "I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as interim director of faculty development. I look forward to providing support to faculty in the improvement of teaching, scholarship, and leadership. Furthermore, I am excited about the opportunity to build on the success of the Center for Academic Creativity."
