USI Continuing Education announces new series of fall noncredit courses

Join Scott Conner, president of the Evansville Astronomical Society, who will reveal facts about the sun, planets, stars, and the Universe in Astronomy 101. Participants will have an opportunity to observe celestial objects through telescopes at the Wahnsiedler Observatory. Have a passion for writing? You won't want to miss the wide selection of classes aimed at aspiring writers. Offerings include Writing Your Story, How to be Published, Fiction Writing for Beginners, The Truth About Self Publication, How to Become a Published Author, Creating Your Novel, and Short Story and Novel Feedback. Do you want to learn how to better manage your debts and expenses? Register for Living Debt Free in the 21st Century course where you will learn a system that will help you eliminate your consumer debt and mortgage. Need help learning some computer basics? Sign up for My First Computer Class where you will learn the parts of the computer and how to use the keyboard and mouse. From here, you can enroll in Microsoft PC classes, which include digital photo editing, creative slideshows, and more. Looking for adventure? Check out the fitness, aquatics, and recreation offerings. Classes include Sailing School, Basketball Officiating, Learn to Scuba Dive, and more. Nathan Holmes of Vertical eXcape Climbing Center and Outdoor Store will also lead several outdoor adventure trips in kayaking, white water rafting, backpacking, rock climbing, and caving. Noncredit courses are designed to provide opportunities for personal growth and development and are open to anyone, regardless of educational background. All courses are presented in a noncompetitive and informal atmosphere where interest in learning is the primary consideration.
