Local coroner to discuss suicide prevention September 28
Annie Groves
Groves has served for over 22 years in various roles in the Coroner's Office. She was elected coroner in 2008. Prior to the election, she served eight years as chief deputy coroner. The first woman in Vanderburgh County to be elected coroner, Groves is a court-certified expert witness with a specialty area in the death investigations of infants and children. Groves serves on the board of directors for the Mental Health of America and the Ark Crisis Child Care Center. She is an advisor to the Southwestern Indiana Suicide Prevention Coalition. Her presentation is the culminating event of a month of suicide awareness and prevention activities sponsored by the USI Counseling Center. A $900 grant from the Indiana Collegiate Action Network made the suicide prevention awareness campaign possible. |
