Exploring Majors Fair October 21
|
The event is sponsored by University Division Advising. All five colleges and many academic departments will be on hand to answer student questions about the majors and minors available at USI. The Exploring Majors Fair helps students move into a major course of study, along with freshman seminar and career planning classes, peer counseling, and referrals to Career Counseling and Career Services and Placement. "The intent of the Exploring Majors Fair is to provide a central location where students can investigate the many academic majors and minors available at USI," said Tim Fitzgibbon, University Division advisor. "It is an ideal opportunity for students to meet with dozens of faculty from the five colleges. Student Services departments will also be in attendance, and students already enrolled in the various academic programs will be available to answer questions about their academic choices." "This event is also beneficial to students who have chosen a major but may have questions about their choice or may be considering a minor or second major. In addition, the Exploring Majors Fair benefits departments by providing them an opportunity to showcase their academic programs and services to a wide variety of USI students. We had a record turn out last year, and we expect to see even greater numbers of students this year."
