Essential facts about Assessment Day, November 9, 2010
|
The ETS-Proficiency Profile exam evaluates changes in skills in the humanities, science and mathematics, and social sciences. USI administers this exam to incoming full-time, non-transfer freshman students to see what they know coming into USI. These same students are tested again as seniors to see what they have learned at USI. Failure to participate in ETS-Proficiency Profile testing will result in the loss of priority registration privileges for spring 2011, summer 2011, and fall 2011 classes. Freshmen who are required to participate, but who do not take the ETS-Proficiency Profile test on Assessment Day will NOT be able to register for classes until OPEN REGISTRATION for that semester. Dates for Open Registration are as follows: - Spring 2011 - Friday, January 7, 2011 - Summer I 2011 - Tuesday, May 10, 2011 - Summer II 2011 - Frdiay, June 17, 2011 - Fall 2011 - Friday, August 19, 2011 The hold will be removed on August 1, 2011. Students who don't participate will lose priority registration for spring, summer, and fall of 2011. Details will be included in emails being sent to students on Wednesday October 20, 2010, and letters will be mailed to the students' local address. The information also is available on OPRA's web site, www.usi.edu/opra/assessment.asp. Students who want to verify their testing status can visit www.usi.edu/opra/assessment_testing.asp and enter their nine-digit student ID. If a student's name appears, they are REQUIRED to take the ETS-Proficiency Profile. |
