Funds approved to complete last section of USI-Burdette Park Trail

Photo Credit: Elizabeth Courtney Randolph HI-RES | WEB RELATED VIDEO:  RELATED AUDIO:  Contact for more information: Vanderburgh County officials announced Tuesday that funding has been secured to build the third and final section of the USI-Burdette Park Trail between USI's campus and the county's Burdette Park. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2011 with completion sometime later in the year. The 2.5 paved bike and pedestrian trail will connect campus with the significant outdoor attractions of Burdette Park, including many more miles of trails (see a map of the USI-Burdette Park trail). USI contributed much of the land through which the trail winds. The section from USI's baseball field past Broadway Avenue is complete and a section continuing the trail to University Boulevard will be complete later this fall.
