Strategic Planning Next Steps -Identifying Major Initiatives
|
Using the information gathered from these discussion and focus groups, teams of faculty, staff and students are being asked to participate in six one-half day retreats designed to identify major initiatives the University should pursue to reach the state goals. Two of the retreats were held last week. The first one focused on the goal of a 24/7 campus and was led by Katherine Draughon and Jake Williams. On Thursday, Brian Posler and Mohammed Khayum led the retreat "Increasing the Graduation Rate." Possible initiatives were identified and are being further developed by team members. Half-day retreats for the other four goals are being scheduled for November and January. Draughon, from the Office of Planning, Research, and Assessment, said, "We are using the ideas and information from the faculty and staff that have been collected since this summer and throughout the fall semester to develop key initiatives for consideration." She plans periodic reports to keep the campus community apprised of the progress. |
