Publishing executive to meet with faculty and students

Dr. Heidi Burns, an executive editor for Peter Lang Publishing, will be at the University of Southern Indiana on Friday, November 12 to talk about the realities of getting published. Sponsored by the Center for Academic Creativity, the program will include sessions for faculty/staff and students.

Burns will discuss book publishing and publishing an article for a journal. She also will discuss plagiarism and copyright laws. She holds a Ph.D. in journalism from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.

The program for students will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in Kleymeyer Hall in the Liberal Arts Center. The faculty/staff session is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. in the same location. There will be a brief reception between the two sessions, also in Kleymeyer Hall.
