15th Annual Gospel Explosion set for November 20

Cheryl Crowell,USI gospel choir director, said the music presented this year will reach across all ages and nationalities. Special guests include Honoring God's Kingdom, a gospel rap group designed to reach out to area youth, the Bible Center Cathedral Choir, who offer a more contemporary style of music often found on Christian radio, Answered Prayer, and the Zion Children's Choir. This year's headliner is USI's own Designed by Grace, a gospel choir comprised of USI students performing a variety of music including spirituals and hymns. Designed by Grace is a cooperative program of the Multicultural Center and the College of Liberal Arts. The gospel choir accepts and welcomes USI students of all races, cultures, and backgrounds into its membership. The Gospel Explosion is part of Religious Awareness Month on the THREADS (Teaching Human Respect and Encouraging Action Diversity Series) November calendar. THREADS is a campus-wide diversity initiative of the Multicultural Center to encourage intentional diversity programming throughout the USI community through a coordinated diversity calendar.
